If you are sitting at the desk eight hours a day, you probably could use some exercise when the opportunity arises. It just so happens that working out in the toilet is both easy and fast. So instead of only working out your thumb reading news on your Smartphone, why don’t you spend that time toning your body? Here are 5 exercises you can do while sitting on the toilet – and you don’t even have to do them all in one visit!
1. Leg extensions
Extend your right leg out straight. Then bend just a little and straighten again. Repeat with your left leg. Work 3 sets of 10 repetitions on each leg. Remember to sit up straight throughout the entire exercise.
2. Finger pointers
Extend your arms and swiftly open and close your hands 50-100 times. It’s a very easy exercise and it will give your hands and lower arms a good workout.
3. Knee lifts
Make a wide stance while sitting on the toilet and place your hands behind your head. Lift your left knee and twist your right elbow down to meet it halfway. Keep your back straight throughout the exercise. Repeat with your right knee and left elbow. Do this for approx. 1 minute.
4. Arm circles
Raise your arms straight out to your sides. Keep your palms up and start making small circles with the arms, first 20 forward circles and then 20 backwards. Flip your palms so they face the floor and repeat the sequence.
5. Elbow curls
Place your hands on your ears so your elbows point to the sides. Bring your elbows together in front of you while still holding your hands on your ears and then all the way back to the starting position at moderate speed. Repeat about 30 times.
